West Michigan Plumbers, Fitters and Service Trades Local Union No. 174 of The United Association of Journeymen and Apprentices of the Plumbing and Pipe Fitting Industry of the United States and Canada. 

For over 100 years Local 174 has furnished the most highly skilled, motivated and exceptionally well-trained workforce to West Michigan mechanical contractors, helping to make them more competitive and by far the best value for any customer.  The job may be a power plant, school, hospital, manufacturing facility, personal residence or anything in between.  We install, renovate and maintain plumbing, heating and HVAC systems.

Our geographical jurisdiction includes the counties of Kent, Lake, Manistee, Mason, Mecosta, Montcalm, Muskegon, Newaygo, Oceana, Osceola, Ottawa and Ionia.

Applications for future apprentice plumbers, pipefitters and HVACR service technicians are available at our office in Coopersville, the SECOND Thursday of every month, from 8 am to 12 pm and 1 to 4:30 pm.  To be placed in the applicant pool, candidates must be at least 18 years of age, have a COPY of a high school diploma or GED, and a COPY of a valid driver's license.  Applicants should have mechanical aptitude, good math skills, and should recognize that this is a physically demanding trade.
